XGEO Space Object Catalog
Browse catalogBuilt and supported by Dr. Roberto Furfaro and his students at the University of Arizona, the XGEO space object catalog (XGEOCat) is one of the first archives of orbital information for artificial objects between geostationary orbit and the moon. XGEOcat is hosted on VerSSA, a Cyverse cyberinfrastructure for harboring space situational awareness data, and currently provides up to date information on over one hundred objects.
The expectation of this website is for it to be used by those in the Space Domain Awareness (SDA) community to access the XGEOCat. Catalog access has been split into two phases:
- Users may request data by contacting Dr. Furfaro and his team. They will then be given instructions for how to access XGEOCat on VerSSA.
- The catalog will be more dynamic, offering users the chance to be authenticated via a log in system where a username and password must be provided. Contents of XGEOCat will be able to be retrieved through this interactive website, and an API. There will also be tools for calculating observation opportunities and an observation submission system for verified observers.
This website is currently in Phase 1, with Phase 2 set to be completed by the end of October, 2021. For more information on XGEOCat or to be given access to the data, contact Dr. Roberto Furfaro.
